This show strives to expand the definition of sex work to include anyone whose labor has required them to perform and be sexualized for profit or survival. From drag stages to restaurant tables, we’re putting sex work in its full context — as art, as labor, as resilience. Through visual art, live acts, and community celebration, this event uplifts the voices and bodies of those who’ve lived it — and those who’ve ever felt the weight of being made a spectacle at work.
Date: TBD, September 2025
Location: To be announced
Tickets: Free, donations welcomed
S*x Work is more than just an event — it’s a living, breathing collaboration between artists, advocates, and community members who understand the power of visibility. This project brings together a curated gallery of visual art alongside a night of performances including drag, burlesque, pole, live music, and more. It’s a celebration, a protest, a reunion, and a reckoning — all held in the same space.
We’re centering the voices of people who have lived at the intersection of sexuality and labor, many of whom have never been invited into traditional art spaces. The gallery will feature visual artists and performers who engage with the expanded definition of sex work — from literal depictions of dancers and escorts to conceptual pieces about being sexualized in the workplace. Our artists are people who deeply understand the complexity of using the body as art, survival, and expression.
This event is organized by Mello Artwork in collaboration with a collective of creatives and sex workers that believe visibility is power and art is protest. The event is being entirely community-funded, with sponsorships from small businesses, individual donors, and grassroots orgs. Every submission, every post, and every dollar raised helps us build something that refuses shame, uplifts survival, and honors the full spectrum of what sex work can be.

Yes — this event is open to allies, supporters, and those with direct ties to sex work communities. While S*x Work centers the voices and experiences of sex workers, it also uplifts intersectional identities often tied to this labor: queer, trans, Black, brown, disabled, and other marginalized folks. If you attend, we ask that you come with respect, awareness, and allyship. Security will be present to ensure this is a safe space — built by and for those most in need for protection when diving into the art of sex work.
Due to the nature of the theme and performances, this event will be strictly 18+. We are committed to ensuring that all adults — including 18–20 year olds — can attend. Whether the event will be 21+ depends on the final venue and any licensing restrictions, which we’ll confirm as soon as possible.
Yes — the event will be ADA compliant, with accessible entrances, exits, and restrooms for all genders and mobility needs. Ample seating will be available throughout the space.
